does anybody no were I can get some form of mesh or grill to cover my pond
this is more my last attempt to keep the pump thieves away so it will have
to be pretty strong by the way I am in the uk thanks in advance

If they are determined they will get through anything I suppose but is it
worth looking in yellow pages for an engineering/fabrication company who
will have access to wire mesh of different thicknesses - they may even be
able to galvanise it for you. A relative of mine lays wooden trellis
fencing across the pond when a young child visits. This is unsightly but
could be used when the going away for some time though I suspect it would
not be as thief proof as the wire mesh.

try a cctv camera pointed at the pond, even a dummy one and a pir floodlamp.
Or take the pump out of the pond buried in a separate chamber?
